    Default kAutoQuest

Just a brief heads up that I thought a few others might find useful.

As some of you may remember (or even have used), some time ago I made a little mod called kAutoQuest that was very basic and meant to auto-accept and auto-complete quests whenever possible, greatly speeding up questing which is of course very handy for expansion release times and all that jazz. The one drawback was that anytime a quest had multiple rewards to choose from, it required manual input and thus in the last few days I had an idea to improve upon it by allowing it to complete quests with multiple rewards and auto-select the best item from the choices in an intelligent manner.

The solution is in an update and now public release which can be found here: http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/kautoquest/

The details of all the configuration settings are in the main description, but the basics are that by utilizing the Pawn addon, you can use a stat scale (your own or copy an existing one) along with the other Pawn settings to determine which item reward from a quest is the biggest upgrade to your current gear. kAutoQuest will auto-select it upon completion, and if enabled, auto-equip it as well.

I tried my best to debug this, but if anyone else decides to try it out and gets any errors, it would be appreciated if you pass them along!

I'll test it out when I level my experiment nubbins over the weekend.

Edit: still haven't even looked at it, but the auto-equip option may need a "don't remove experience increasing heirlooms" option. If you haven't already considered that.

Aye that's in there already actually (though whether it works as coded I've yet to test) http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/kau...tain-heirlooms

Another pretty big bunch of features have been added and I think it's becoming fairly stable and bug free, enough so for public use I suspect. http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/kautoquest/

I'd be very appreciative of any testers that can try out kAutoQuest on the beta so I can ensure compatibility for MoP launch. Any help would be great, but particularly useful would be testing from any mid-level character (~20+) that has access to quests offering more than one reward, as getting access to such quests is difficult. If behavior seems off for any reason, please enable Debug mode (Interface > Addons > kAutoQuest > Debug > Enabled) and set the Threshold to "High". This will prevent kAutoQuest from auto-accepting rewards temporarily while Debug is enabled, but still provide Debug text output to inform of the logic going on (why it is doing what it's doing). This may provide useful info as to why it may not be working as expected, or to pass along to me if a bug is found.

If testing, be sure to grab the latest development builds of both kAutoQuest and Pawn: http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/kautoquest/files/ and http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/pawn/files/.

Also, if testing on a low level character where item rewards are unlikely to have primary stats, be certain the Pawn scale you're using has a specified value for the Armor stat. Leaving this default of zero for most scales will cause Pawn to not recognize upgrades for lowbies that are simply X armor to X + 10 armor.

Thanks much to anyone that can help!

I just "finished" a major rewrite of the core code for the kAutoQuest 1.1 release. Functionally it should behave much the same, but with far fewer bugs or issues, such as misappropriated item selection, auto-equip errors, incorrect outputs, etc. For previous users you should have no issue with forward compatibility, but note that a few options were removed due to redundancy, such as Best Armor Type (which is now automatically determined by the addon and uses tooltip scanning to check for equipable items).

Also note that version 1.1 and beyond should be compatible with both 4.3 and 5.0/Beta so any feedback from either environment is welcome.

As mentioned before, it is difficult to test all scenarios myself, so specifically turning in quests with 1 or more trinkets available with Debug mode/High threshold enabled would be very useful to me. Likewise characters with heirloom items equipped in slots where quest rewards might be selected is also not fully tested and could be beneficial.

Another minor release should fix a few bugs in the big rewrite update I put out recently, so any users please advise if you run into anything wonky, thanks!
