• World First Strict: Glory of the Icecrown Raider

    After an epic evening on Sindragosa, we managed to take her down in Heroic and achieve the first strict completion of Glory of the Icecrown Raider! Well done Voxers!



    As for the fight itself, Sindragosa proved one of the more challenging Heroics we've tried so far in Icecrown and I'd personally rate her as the highest difficulty with pre-buff Saurfang a close second. After our first night of trying her out last week we of course didn't have much trouble entering the final phase, but getting much past 25% was a real deal breaker. This evening, we spent most of the night wiping as the damage output healers must contend with and the Berserk timer for DPS combine to be a pretty challenging encounter.

    Ultimately, we added to our survival by using more Frost Resist armor and really nailed down our transitional rotations and communication, especially among the healers. Not much else to say other than successfully downing her was one of the more epic feelings of accomplishment I've had in-game in a while and it struck the right balance of difficulty without severe random bullshittery -- for the most part, even though it was hard, there were always little tweaks or mistakes we could avoid the next time to perfect our execution.

    Even still, at any moment one little thing or mistake could cause a death, but it was a lot of fun (for me anyway)!

    On to Heroic Lich King... dun dun dunnnnn!

      Congrats. We ourselves will get it next week. Also, im going to go ahead and be the party pooper, but it's world second.

      Well I don't want to get into a pissing match with them, but actually Phoenicis has 7 people clearly part of their 10-man main raiding force that have multiple clears of ICC25 through Festergut, and not just random people in the guild or recent recruits who had past achievements -- the activity shows these are people involved in their 10-man raids/achievement runs. Moreover, many of them are still actively running ICC25 through Fester/Rot to this day (even going so far as getting ICC25 kills the same day they finished Glory).

      Seems pretty obvious to me if many players are still actively raiding ICC25 after labeling oneself as a "Strict" guild that there's something fishy going on.

      Its very frustrating when guilds go out of there way to push the limits on the rules. The rules are not there to be bent they are there to allow for natural attrition in the game. People do come and go... but to just blatently bend the rules is pretty crappy.

      Another word for this is "Cheating".

      Hmm, i didn't notice that. They are a new addition to the top rank list, i haven't had time to look over them. It's just another reason why the criteria needs to be fixed. Would be lame to see the final prize of heroic lich king go to someone who the list wasn't intended for.
